We did get up and moving this morning and avoided the caravan of 15 or so large motorpalaces.  In fact, once we got outside of Watson Lake it was rather peaceful and no traffic with the occassional rain shower.  We think that a lot of south bound traffic might have been scared away, because last week there was a landslide north of Watson Lake that stranded a lot of folks in Whitehorse.  They closed the highway, except for local traffic.  This meant RVs were stuck either in Watson Lake or Whitehorse.  We were told that food had to be flown into Whitehorse.  The grocery stores still have bare shelves.

We had lunch at a recommended restaurant today, the Klondike Rib and Slamon BBQ.  The food was marginal and the place was quaint, but not worth the price of the meal.  Oh well, live and learn.  The restaurant is housed itn the two oldest buildings still in use in Whitehorse, which is the provincial capital of Yukon Canada.  They had some interesting pictures on the walls and a variety of snow shoes hanging from the rafters.

This is one of the bears we saw yesterday.
