Relaxing in St Croix Falls at the Olsen's house. Sarah and I went to elementary school together. The drive through Wisconsin was uneventful and not particularly noteworthy, other than we saw lots of little lakes and some wild flowers. I guess after the Spring we had in San Antonio with the fantastic wild flowers, the meager small white daisies were ho-hum. The were some interesting speed limit signs, 55 for cars and 30 for snowmobiles.
Sarah has over 50 chickens in various stages of life, which is very interesting to learn about. She has a chicken guard dog (a puppy right now) which is to guard the backyard flock, since the Lemonhead was lost to a fox. She also had to get rid of George, because he became aggressive to people and has now been served for supper some place. Sarah has decided that naming her chickens might not be such a good idea. However, we had an amusing conversation about potentially naming the chickens after ex's (boyfriends, girlfriends, spouses, etc.) Last night Sarah fixed us a delicious supper and Roger was in gastronomic heaven with homemade banana ice cream, topped with bourbon carmel sauce. We're looking forward to the rest of our meals at the Olsens, since Sarah is a graduate of Cordon Bleu Culinary College. Today we'll be exploring the St Croix National Scenic Riverway.
